Imaginary Cities with guests Rah Rah and Federal Lights at the Habitat in Kelowna, BC on Wednesday July 11, 2012.
Up next was Saskatoon band Rah Rah. This youthful band filed 7 band members onto the small stage of the Habitat and had many members of the crowd on their feet enjoying the energy Rah Rah put off in their half hour set. The band switched up their set constantly throughout, with many members switching instruments for each songs. Rah Rah included their latest single ‘Little Poems’ which will be featured on their upcoming album hitting shelves this fall. Rah Rah is Erin Passmore, Kristina Hedlund, Joel Passmore, Marshall Burns, Leif Thorseth, Jeff Romanyk, and Dan Crozier and they ended the show bashing a mexican piñata filled with candy for the crowd.
After a final stage changeover, headliner Imaginary Cities hit the stage right around 10:30. On support for their latest album, Temporary Resident, they made sure to include many hits off of it within their set. Their playful attitudes brought the crowd to the dance floor playing tracks such as ‘Hummingbird’, ‘Cherry Blossom’, ‘Ride This Out’, and of course, their album titled track; ‘Temporary Resident’. Imaginary Cities and their indie dance-rock sets have been to Kelowna before, and from the sounds of it, each time the shows get more and more exciting. Imaginary Cities is Rusty Matyas, Marti Sarbit, David Landreth, Ryan Voth, and Zack Antel and are currently on tour across Canada and the United States supporting (as previously stated) their latest album Temporary Resident.
