The Canadian National Exhibition present… The Arkells with special guests The Darcys on Wednesday August 29, 2012 at the CNE Bandshell.

SMALL payday loans VERY CHEAP

Whenever I hear that Canadian rock band, the Arkells, are in my city (wherever I am), I try to take the opportunity to see them. Now with the Canadian National Exhibition in town, nearly every night during The Ex, a show is held at the bandshell. On this particular night, was the Arkells.

Opening for the Arkells were The Darcys. The Darcys, a band also from Toronto, have a similar rock n’ roll vibe to them as the Arkells (with a touch more indie) prepared the crowd for a one of a kind night.

Starting with ‘Book Club’ the Arkells came out rockin’, They continued with ‘Where U Goin’ and followed with one of their first radio aired songs ‘Ballad of Huge Chavez’. They were playing to a crowd with a mixed demographic, making it evident that the Arkells have a style that is attractive to all. Throughout their set they made sure to play other hits such as ‘Pullin’ Punches’ and their latest single ‘On Paper’ before ending with my personal favourite ‘Michigan Left’ and ‘Whistleblower’. Of course hailed back on stage after their set for an encore, the Arkells treated the fans to a 3 song encore which consisted of ‘Deadlines’, and ‘John Lennon’ while also covering Hall & Oates; ‘You Make My Dreams Come True’ in between.

As I stated this is my 3rd Arkells experience, and definitely not my last. To put it simply, if you have the opportunity go see them. Their songs appeal to all and they run that stage well.
