Frederick Entertainment and Vamp’d Rock Bar & Grill presents Femme Fatale.
Rocker chicks rule! At least they did at Vamp’d with Femme Fatale as they kicked off their first ever Las Vegas show! Femme Fatale made an impact in the late 80’s with a successful self titled cd, and now in 2013 this was the first ever all-girl live lineup, led by original vocalist Lorraine Lewis and back with a fire and grit that surprised some of the fans, these girls can rock your face off! Lewis put together a pile of talent for this crew, with Iron Maidens guitar shredders Courtney Cox and Nita Strauss in the wings, bassist Janis Tanaka (Pink), keyboardist Katt Scarlett, and this show featured Athena Kottak (Ex-Wives of Rock, sister of drummer Tommy Lee) on drums.
Femme Fatale played a run of songs from the 80’s release, with their signature “Waiting for the Big One” and “Falling in and out of Love” getting sing-a-long action from the crowd. Lewis belted out the anthemic choruses, guitarists Cox and Strauss dueled back and forth, headbanging and fingers flying on extended solos that wowed the fans and kept the energy high for the dynamic set, Athena was a vision of black sticks and hair flying from the back of stage. The night finished out with the Femmes covering Kiss’ “Lick It Up” with a pair of Kiss impersonators (only in Vegas?) for a rowdy finale to a powerpacked show.
Femme Fatale will be performing on this years 2014 Monsters of Rock Cruise later this spring. Check out Lorraine’s website at www.lorrainecafe.com and follow her on twitter at twitter.com/Lorrainekicks. Connect with Femme Fatale on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ILoveFemmeFatale
