Mastodon band members had this to say about the new song, “High Road”:

“I wrote that on a day off while we were on tour in Luxembourg. I was sitting in this rainy city on a Sunday, and nothing was open. I felt like I needed to write something to reflect how I was feeling. I started banging on a guitar. I was thinking Neurosis and The Melvins low-tuned with a little more pop sensibility for the chorus.” — Bill Kelliher

“You can headbang to that one for days. I love the simplicity of it. Lyrically, it’s an angry number where you want to see someone destroyed. It’s heavy-handed in that sense, but it’s the fantasy I felt at the time.” — Brann Dailor

Skinner is a self-taught artist living in Oakland, California. He has meticulously crafted a balance of extraordinary mural work, bizarre and antagonistic installations, while maintaining a prolific commercial career. Influenced by 80’s pop culture, human struggle, myths and violence, dungeons and dragons and the heavy metal gods, Skinner’s mind is one of psycho social mayhem fueled by a calculated chaos. His work has been exhibited all over the world in various museums, universities and galleries. Skinner has been an ambassador of the alternative arts movement in countries ranging from Russia, Cuba, Japan, Europe and all across the United States. Pay him a visit and see the chaos in action.
