The best thing about  a music festival for me is the opportunity to check out bands I’ve never seen before.  I went to Life is Beautiful Festival very familiar with the sound of J. Roddy Walston & The Business through their hit songs Heavy Bells and Take it as it Comes.  I had never seen them live and I knew I had to check out this band who got their start in small town, rural Tennessee, just across the state line from where I grew up in Georgia.  Seeing this band live inspires a new level of enthusiasm for them.  J. Roddy Walston playing his vintage 1970’s traveling piano, singing his pure, bluesy, rock & roll with a hint of gospel roots was like winning the rock & roll lottery for this fan at a multi-genre festival that was slim on the rock & roll.
