kornFriday the 13th in Vegas found Korn is kicking off their 20 year anniversary tour for a sold out crowd at the intimate Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas, powering through their 20 year young debut LP “KORN” in it’s entirety for the horde of fans that packed the club. Korn opened with “Blind” and vocalist Jonathan Davis led the band through their nu-metal legacy, twisting and writhing through  the LPs classics cuts, a true tribute to the band’s signature original sound. Davis brought out the Bagpipes for “Shoots and Ladders”, their first song in their lengthy repertoire that featured the bagpipes and imprinted Korn with the obscure use that repeated throughout their musical course. Davis, guitarists Brian “Head” Welch and James “Munky” Shaffer, bassist Reginald “Feldy” Arvizu and drummer Ray Luzier tore through the remaining original set, stopping for a fast breather before retaking the stage for an encore of big guns “Here to Stay”, “Falling Away From Me”, “Freak on a Leash” before ending with a prophetic “Coming Undone”  and a final “Got the Life” as they brought the house down and the show to a close on a redux of a long ago debut tour generating a new life of its own as the head out on tour for shows throughout the US and Europe into the summer.
