The Queen of Metal Lita Ford was back in Vegas in March, shredding her way through a packed show at Brooklyn Bowl, the new-er place to see and be seen and rock out on the Vegas concert scene. Ford has made Vegas a ‘rock-n-roll all night and party every day’ destination long way back to the Runaways days, and a few escapades here and there (one in particular involving a legendary guitarist in Judas Priest) are mentioned in her new memoir Living like A Runaway released this month also. The book encompasses Lita’s sex, drugs and rock-n-roll life as guitar grabbed her soul for the first time, the Runaway days, to her now legendary badass guitar hero status and solo artist success. An exceptional story of an exceptional life so far , and Lita also has a new album Time Capsule due out April 15 that gives look back to the 80’s heyday and coincides with her extraordinary tales. Time Capsule is a 80’s jam session come back to life, with a long list of players from the era including Jeff Scott Soto, Gene Simmons, Robin Zander, Rick Nielsen, Billy Sheehan, and Dave Navarro all reveling in the moment and laying it down on tape.

But back to the night at hand – Ford ripped and tore through a set list of classic songs picked from her 8 solo albums, along with and a’ lil Runaways “Cherry Bomb”, and showed the crowd of young and old how rock and roll is done. Four decades in and still going strong, Lita commands the stage and the audience and doesn’t hold back, with a backing band of musicians with some legacy of their own, she shines front and center stage as the one to watch. Long live the Queen.
