Slayer wrapped up the North American leg of their Repentless tour with their last bloody night in Sin City, to a packed house at the Hard Rock’s Joint and a crowd that didn’t want to leave… and it seemed neither did the band, with Slayer frontman Tom Araya telling the crowd, “we love what we do”! Slayer pummeled the Joint with a long set of songs kicking off with the title track “Relentless” from their September 2015 release, their highest charting debut to date in the US and the first with Gary Holt and drummer Paul Bostaph (formerly in Testament), along with Slayer veterans Araya and guitarist Kerry King.

Grindcore pioneers Carcass Opened the show with bassist/vocalist Jeff walker seated but still kicking (literally) from center stage. Walker broke his foot earlier in the week but that didn’t put him out of commission, Walker and crew powered through a 40 minute set without missing a beat before Bay Area thrash metal Testament took the stage for the center slot in the show. Chuck Billy worked the crowd to a frenzy for Testament’s own 40 minutes, with Alex Skolnick ripping through old and new solos from he bands long repertoire, with founding guitarist Eric Peterson and Steve DiGeorgio and Gene Hogan on bass and drums respectively.
