Young, old, male, or female, I’d say Chris Brown, had all walks of life screaming from the moment each fan walked through the doors of the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. Opening for Chris, starting off the night, was Justice Crew. Justice Crew, is simply a crew of the most talented guys I’ve ever seen. I wasn’t quite sure, if what I was watching, was a live episode of Americas Best Dance Crew, or if it was, what I had solely expected, a concert. Their vocals, were fantastic, but no vocals, whether it even be Bono, can match their dancing. All 8 of them, were doing back flips, crab walks, and moon walks, perfectly in sync with one another, which to say the least, hyped up the crowd to the max.
After Justice Crew, came out, Australia’s biggest female DJ, Havana Brown. Havana has DJ’d for other great acts such as The Pussy Cat Dolls, and claimed the title of being Britney Spears’ official DJ. She mashed together the latest top 40 bangers, and she did it in style. Frequently coming out from behind her work bench, Havana came out, and danced the night away.
The final opener, Australian international pop sensation, Jessica Mauboy, appeared. Jessica’s songs have reached the charts all over the world, and I would say, nobody but her home country appreciates her the best. I imagine quite a few fans came out, just for her show, and not Chris’. However, both rocking the RnB genre, I imagine there were many mutual big time fans.
The hype from each of the openers, and especially for Chris, was simply spectacular. In the break after the opening sets, the overall vibe of the venue was rocking! ‘The Wave’ formed around the arena, with screaming fans throwing up their hands as their time came, and I can say, that that was my first time seeing ‘The Wave’, outside of a sporting event. As well, another major ‘Pre-Chris’ highlight, was a child who I would guess would be no older than 10, danced his way into having the entire arena cheering for him as we spun on the floor, and recreated some of Michael Jacksons best moves.
Not to long after, the lights dimmed, and the crowd went nuts. A curtain dropped, and what looked like a troop of cadets lined the stairs at the back of the stage. It was from this point, when I really understood, the amount of work and thought, that had been put into this tour over the past months. Chris Brown then followed, in his camouflage jumper, underneath his suspenders which were holding up his jet black pants. And to top it all off, he had stylized an army ball cap. Brown came it out with the appearance that he was not here to mess around. Chris played the theme great, and belted his heart out to the entire Entertainment Centre. Overall it is safe to say that I highly recommend fans of Chris Brown to check out this tour, as rumor has it, it will become a world tour. Jive Live was proud to bring you this tour as their first major tour, and hopefully we will be seeing more tours on this level from them, sometime soon!
