Disturbed at the Rave in Milwaukee with special guests, Nonpoint and Art of Dying

A sellout crowd was waiting for one of the biggest metal bands of recent years to hit the stage. They were treated to a great one-two punch of Nonpoint’s intense live show and Art of Dying - a new band out of Canada and produced by Dan Donegan of Disturbed.

With Metallica’s creeping death in the background, getting the crowd pumped up all of sudden stopped and a huge crashing sound came over the PA: It was time to get a little Disturbed! A video played in the background of an insane asylum which David Draiman was trying to be revived by doctors. As this played, out came guitarist Dan Donegan, bassist John Moyer and drummer Mike Wengren and they started playing, “Asylum” for about a minute before singer, Draiman came out to a huge roar of approval. They followed this up with “The Game and Prayer” which allowed Moyer and Donegan to roam each side of the stage to show case their skills.

Now, while some people have complained that Disturbed is pretty stagnant in their shows, in my opinion as a fan, they give me what I want - a great rock show with all the hits. Really, how can you go wrong with that?

Disturbed played a very tight 80 minute, 15 song setlist that included “Liberate,” “Stupify,” and “Ten Thousand Fists.” During this, a video camera was placed on one of the monitors to focus on Draiman’s face and the background of the crowd as they all raised their fists in the air.

As the night ended, on what some crazy people thought was the Rapture for all of us, Milwaukee, on the other hand, was treated to an amazing night of rock from all 3 bands.
