Footlocker Australia and Pastry Shoes presents… Cody Simpson, live in Australia
I am going to open this review by saying, that no words or pictures can describe what truly goes on at a teen sensation concert. I’m not sure if it is the screaming of all the girls, each of them ‘in love’ with the artist, or if it’s the simply the tears of happiness they leave behind, regardless, it is almost magical what one person can do to make thousands of people happy.
Cody first appeared at around 3:30, at his stage set up in the middle of Cavill Avenue, the main street here in Surfers Paradise, on the Gold Coast; Cody’s home town. He arrived this early to simply do a sound check, which made the 100′s of girls already standing outside eagerly excited, some already in tears. His sound check took no longer than 10 minutes before he headed off back inside upstairs of Foot Locker, to the luxurious Soul building. There he prepared for the show, and got to spend some quality time with his friends. Despite all the pressure he is constantly under, he manages to keep his cool, and do his best in the end.
After two long hours for the fans, Cody came back out to the stage, to a full street of die-hard ‘Simpsonizers’. His set was short, only about 6 songs, but was it ever sweet. He started off with his first true single, ‘Iyiyi’, and from there went through all his other crowd favourites. All in all, at the end of the show, I can bet you he left every single fan out there, more than satisfied, and more ‘in-love’ than ever.
Overall, he is, and always will be a home town favourite here on the Gold Coast, and I will speak for the entire city when I say this; hopefully he will be back.
