The Cosmopolitan presents BEN FOLDS, Las Vegas, Nevada, 7/15/11
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas has been open less than a year but has fast earned a reputation for regularly hosting both established headliners and artists on the verge of breaking big. Friday night, July 15, 2011, the Cosmopolitan featured Ben Folds, who literally rocked the Las Vegas strip instead of the suburbs via the Cosmopolitan’s 65-foot tall video marquee where they broadcast concerts from the Boulevard Pool venue to the people in the street below. Ben had a little fun with it gesturing to the people on the street after remarking that a half hour before he was nobody out on the sidewalk and now he’s literally the biggest thing on the strip.
Ben Fold’s brought his piano and his band to entertain us on a beautiful Las Vegas night. The deck of the Boulevard Pool with a bright full moon above us was the perfect venue to spend this night and Ben Folds made sure everyone was having a good time.
He played a mix of familiar (Brick, Still Fighting It, You Don’t Know Me, Effington, Bitch Went Nuts, Bastard, Best Imitation of Myself), and new music from his latest album, Lonely Avenue. (Levi Johnston’s Blues, Saskia Hamilton), a cover of Ke$ha’s Get Sleazy and much more.
