The 405 freeway closure stopped no one from attending the SOLD OUT show on July 15 2011 at the Santa Barbara Bowl. People drove to the show from all over CA without the 405, just to see Incubus.

With no opening act, Incubus was scheduled to go on at 8:15 sharp, a little early for a headlining act. It was 8:30 and Incubus has not yet taken the stage. The outside venue provided a nice breeze as fans waited. Fans were both waiting patiently for them and many were on the floor below buying beers. At 8:45 the lights dimmed and were dimmed for about 3 minutes before members of the appeared on stage. They instantly went into Megalomaniac, a great song to start off their 19 song set. People buying drinks downstairs were scrambling to not spill there drinks as they ran upstairs to their seats. As half the song went by, not one seat was empty. Everyone sung along with the fan favorite, with hands in the air. Megalomaniac really set the bar and foresaw what the rest of the night would be like. As the song finished, they performed two other popular hits including, “Wish you were Here” and “Pardon Me”. After the opening songs, the smell of marijuana was already in the air. After the fan favorites, the band performed some older songs from the 90’s and early 00’s including three songs from their newly released album, “If Not Now, When?” The band performed songs off of almost all their albums. The majority of the songs they played were off of their 1999 album- “Make Yourself”. They also performed songs off of “Morning View” from 2001, “A Crow Left of the Murder” from 2003, and “Light Grenades” from 2005.

Overall, the concert provided something for everyone. Whether you liked their older stuff or liked only their hits, fans experienced both. All the traffic was all worth it.
