Walking up to the Festival Hall, it was relevant that there was a metal concert on that evening… the swarm of people of all ages in black t-shirts making there way to Festival Hall on Tuesday the 2nd of August 2011. With the doors opening at 6.30pm there were people lining up to get the best position in the mosh, or to get the merchandise before it was all sold.

Despite some fans being disappointed about the cancelation of Sevendust as the special guest the place was still packed with Dream On Dreamer taking Sevendust’s place. They fired up the night from 7:45 playing not stop untill 8:30 getting all the metal fans pumped for the headliner A7X, and pumped they should be! Avenged Sevenfold opened with a bang; starting the night with the title track from there newest album “nightmare” getting the crowd roaring right from the get go. The pyrotechnics starting right from the moment they walked out. With the loud drum lines, and amazing guitar riffs; even if this isn’t your genre of music you would have enjoyed this show. It’s sad that so many people think of metal music as something where the lead singer is just screaming the lyrics, as for A7X this was not the case. The lyrics were great to take note to, along with the rest of the music. When Avenged Sevenfold’s hits were played you could hardly hear them, due to the crowd singing along word for word as loud as they could.

Once the night was finished it left fans wanting more! So hopefully when they return, they end up performing at a larger venue; they wouldn’t struggle filling it after the performance then played tonight.
