Wet Ape Productions presents… Center of Gravity Day 3 with special guests Chromeo, Dragonette, and Zeds Dead.

The final day of Canada’s hottest beach festival was underway at a bright and early 9:00 AM. As the bumps and sets of Volleyball started, simultaneously did the dribbling and shooting hoops on the basketball court. This final day meant the finals for all the sporting events throughout Center Of Gravity.

It wasn’t until the late afternoon when a dubstep invasion duo took the main stage. Zeds Dead laid out there ‘grimiest’ tunes as the dubstep loving community of Kelowna, danced, jumped, and fist-pumped hard. Zeds Dead, both from Toronto, have toured globally playing festivals and in night clubs throughout the world. This experience showed on stage.

Dragonette, who seems to be an annual native to Center of Gravity, rocked the stage next. Since last year, she had produced one of the number one hits around the globe ‘Hello’ with DJ/Producer Martin Sloveig. Dragonette started off with that hit, and lead to hit after hit, including ‘I Get Around’, ‘Fire In Your New Shoes’, and ‘Pick Up The Phone’. After this year, it seems that the ‘Center’ of Center of Gravity, would be Dragonette, and we all hope she returns next year!

Headline tonight, were festival kings, Chromeo. Chromeo playing in festivals such as Coachella, brought some of their own lighting gear to top Wet Apes set up. Adding strobes, and an entire back wall of flashing lights, truly accented the lit up, plastic legs of a women which were the stands for each keyboard.

With one half of Chromeo being a naturally talented singer, they thought to combine his talent with P-Thug’s voice-box enhanced voice to give their indie-modern day music a 80′s feel to simply be one of a kind. This music is one that you expect to be solely done on a computer, and impossible to perform live. They proved everyone with that thought wrong, and managed to be one of the best acts of the festival.

Overall, it was a great ending, to a great day, to a great weekend and festival. Center of Gravity attracts over 22 000 people with over 70% of them being from out of town. This will be definitely an encouragement for Wet Ape to continue their amazing efforts in successfully continuing to bring Canada’s Hottest Beach Festival to Kelowna, BC!
