The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas presents TV On The Radio and Arctic Monkeys, September 23, 2011

The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas is becoming known for hosting indie and alternative music right in the middle of the the Las Vegas Strip which is usually associated with production shows featuring showgirls, acrobats or boring lounge bands. It’s a welcome entertainment choice. The Boulevard Pool venue is a rooftop pool by day and a music venue under the stars and over the strip by night and a beautiful location to spend a night outside enjoying music.

Arctic Monkeys took the stage first with front man Alex Turner looking like James Dean reincarnate. The guys played much of their new album Suck It and See and prior release Humbug to a warm reception from the crowd in an intimate venue, quite the contrast to their upcoming UK arena tour kicking off the end of October.

TV On The Radio is touring in support of their latest release Nine Types Of Light and they peppered their set with favorites from prior albums including the crowd favorite Wolf Like Me. The crowd was clearly loving TV On The Radio and their admiration was well deserved.

Check out the bands on their websites for information on future tour dates and see them live when you get a chance.
