Selena Gomez & The Scene with guests, Shawn Desman, and Christine Grimmie at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, MB on October 21, 2011.

With multiple sightings throughout the Winnipeg area of celebrity teen couple, ‘Jelena’, consisting of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, rumours questioned if Selena Gomez would have been joined on stage by boyfriend, Justin Bieber that evening.

Starting off the night was 17 year old Youtube sensation Christina Grimmie. Christina has been made viral, the same way many teen sensations have been lately, simply by posting covers on Youtube. She took those covers, and combined them with a couple of her original songs, including her latest single ‘Advice’, and packed an entertaining 15-minute set, warming up the crowd with what’s to come.

Up next, Shawn Desman. Shawn Desman, R&B/Pop star out of Canada’s music capital, Toronto, is touring across the nation with Selena. Entering the stage with 4 robotic dressed dancers, Shawn took the stage with nearly the entire crowd screaming. Desman rocked most of his hits, including Shook, Shiver, Electric, and his latest chart topping hit Night Like This. At this point, the arena seem pumped up enough for Selena to take the stage any minute now.

After a half hour intermission, Ms. Gomez rose from below the stage, and went into A Year Without Rain. Wearing a glamourous bedazzled egyptian-inspired dress, she then went into Hit The Lights.

A sold-out arena, of 12 500 scream tweens consistently drowned out Selena’s sining. Signs were made with notes to Selena, such as ‘We Love You Selena’ and ‘You Rock Selena’ as well as glow-sticks lit up the crowd. The show was put on with multiple screens above, multiple dress changes, and a variety of dancers.

She touched base on all her main hits, which included We Own The Night, Love You Like A Love Song, Tell Me Something I Don’t Know, and A Round & Round. Gomez also made tribute to her first concert, Britney Spears. And in result A medley of Spears’ songs were performed. Nicki Minaj’s summer hit Super Bass was rapped by Gomez as well, and another hit hip-hop song, Lil Wayne’s 6 foot 7 foot played in the background as Selena’s dancers took the spotlight.

Ending off the night she sang Naturally before she left the stage. Coming out a few minutes later, Selena’s encore consisted of her hits Who Say’s and Naturally.

Next thing you know, the concert was over, Bieber did not make an appearance, however I’m sure every girl in the stadium was on an ultimate natural high, many who I’m sure it was their first concert. It’s simply amazing how easily one person can inspire so many, and so positively. Overall, to all the Mom’s out there, I highly recommend taking your little ones, to such a show as Selena’s, it will be evening they will never forget.
