Live Nation presents… the Sam Roberts Band with Zeus at the Centennial Concert Hall in Winnipeg, MB on November 1, 2011.

Soft-rockers of all ages started to flood the Centennial Concert Hall in Winnipeg, the night after Halloween. Opening up for the Sam Roberts band, was Toronto based indie-rock band, Zeus. Zeus consists of 4 musicians, who all our multi-talented as they constantly switched who was on what instrument throughout the set. These guys wouldn’t be the type who you would expect in concert halls, just yet, they seem to be more of a musical-cafe band. However in saying that, they did hold their own and constantly got applauded throughout their 40 minute set.

It wasn’t until 20 minutes later that Sam Roberts and his band hit the stage. At this point the concert hall was nearly at capacity and the fans were ready to rock. With everybody standing throughout the show, an exciting vibe kicked off from the start.

On stage was a guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, drummer, saxophonist as well as Roberts with his guitar. Based out of Montreal, the group has been together over ten years, and have been producing hits ever since. Making sure to play their hits such as ‘Where Have All The Good Things Gone’, and then two songs later ‘Bridge To Nowhere’. The night was at a high when ‘Brother Down’ was played, and followed by ‘Them Kids’.

Coming back on stage for a 4-song encore, Sam Roberts and his band ended off with an extended version of ‘Mind Flood’ feature solo’s throughout. Overall everyone left pleased the show, and Sam Roberts will continue to be one of Canada’s proudest.
