Live Nation presents… the Matthew Good Band with Daniel Wesley at the Burton Cummings Theatre in Winnipeg, MB on November 7, 2011.
As the crowd filed in to the sold out Burton Cummings Theatre this past Monday, Canadian rock singer Daniel Wesley, hit the stage. Playing a reggae feeling rock set, which was mainly about drugs, and the crowd gave him applauses throughout. Daniel played a 40 minute set, which was filled with whammy pedals and ended with Daniel’s hit ‘Ooo Oh’.
Up next was Canadian rock legend Matthew Good, lead of the Matthew Good Band. Starting the set in pure darkness, Matthew entered by himself and made his way into a solo acoustic version of ‘Rabbits’. The crowd made their way up to the stage as Matt showed so much passion into what he was playing. He then made his way into ‘Lights’ which was followed by ‘Explode’. By this point Matt was joined by his band, which consisted of a drummer, keyboardist, guitarist and a bassist.
A light show was in full swing, and managed to stay that way his entire 12 song set. Matthew and his band ended off the set with ‘Weapon’, and finally ‘Shallows Low’. After thanking the crowd Matt left the stage, and of course was cheered back on for an encore.
The Matthew Good Band’s encore consisted of three songs which started with ‘Giant’, which was followed by ‘Alert Status Red’. Ending off on a crowd pleaser the band finished their encore with the hit ‘Set Me On Fire’. Overall Matt and his band gave a well performed show, with a fair size production. This was the half way point in the tour, and will be continuing to cross the nation over the next weeks.
