The Fine Line Music Cafe presents… Tommy Stinson in Minneapolis, MN.
After rocking the Target Center just a few hours before. Tommy has put together a little show to help Timkatec; which is a trade school in Haiti he is dedicated in helping. All proceeds of the nights show is going to help out the school. Tommy last summer held an online auction which raised $40,000 dollars to help out the school.

He has recruted a few of his band mates in GnR to join him this evening; he got Dizzy Reed on keyboards, Richard Fortus on guitars, Emily Stinson on backup vocals and Pete on Bass. Dizzy and Richard helped record his latest release One Man Mutiny which was produced by Phillip Broussard Jr., who worked on his solo album Village Gorilla Head. He has also worked with names like the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Weezer. Emily, his wife, sings back up vocals on the record.
Tommy began his musical career as a founding member of the Replacements. On top of GNR and solo shows he is also the bassist in Soul Asylum. I can say that he is maybe the hardest working man out of Minneapolis.
Tonights show was very low key, and I was surprised to not see more of us fans there, who were probably still trying to get some sleep from the night before. He started off with a few acoustic numbers, brought up the friends from his day job and rocked the house. His song writing is very influenced by his younger years of the Minneapolis sound. If you are a fan of the Replacements, Husker Du, or any other local artist you must pick up Tommy’s new CD. It is great to hear some new tunes from him.
