Adelitas Way at Mojoes in Joliet, IL
If you have not seen Adelitas Way play live, you’re missing out on one of the best new bands in Rock. Their live show is where they separate themselves from most bands and the energy they pour out on stage is very exciting for fans to watch.
Click on link to watch the interview with Adelitas Way for Musictourreviews as we got a chance to talk with Rick DeJesus, lead singer for Adleitas Way about life on the road
Adelitas Way is:
Rick DeJesus – Vocals
Keith Wallen – Rhythm Guitar
Derek Johnston – Bass
Rob Zekaryan – Lead Guitar
Tre Stafford – Drums
Adelitas Way is now on tour with Black Tide and Halestorm and have been non-stop touring for most of this year since they dropped their last album, Home School Valedictorian. With a packed house at MoJoes, opening bands A.D.D. and Black Tide got the crowd worked up and ready to get their faces melted by Adelitas Way. Opening with Collapse off the new album, they had the crowd from the get-go.
DeJesus is a mad man on stage as he moves all over and comes right into the crowds’ faces to scream his lyrics. Also, beware if you’re in front, you will be covered in his sweat by the end of the show because it is nonstop action. Keith Wallen provides good balance on backing vocals to go along with DeJesus on vocals, as well as smoothing out the guitar sound on Rhythm as Zekaryan was tearing it up on lead. Zekaryan is the new guy in the band and has really come into his own with the guys; you can’t help but love his bluesy/rock style of guitar playing. Derek Johnston on bass gives a solid, laid back vibe to his playing to go along with drummer, Tre’s intense drumming skills. On this tour you have 3 of the best new drummers out there on tour now. I have always liked bands that feature their drummers out there and not keep them hiding from the fans and even the music - Tre is one of those drummers that will make you go “wtf was that?”
They continued with Scream and Dirty Little Thing from the first self-titled album before going into Hurt and Cage the Beast which fit perfect for DeJesus who by this time was all worked up and whipping his microphone cord around the stage as he banged his head as if it was attached only by strings. They finished the night with Criticize. Sick was dedicated to all the asshole bosses out there and their big hit, Invincible.
DeJesus thanked all the fans for the support and that they would be at the merch booth all night to sign for fans and take pics. Look for a bigger year from these guys next year and go check them out in 2012.
