The Rave presents… Lacuna Coil
Tonight the Gigantour rolled into Milwaukee,WI with special guest Lacuna Coil opening for Volbeat, Motorhead, and Megadeth
Lacuna Coil is:
Cristina Scabbia on vocals
Andrea Ferro on vocals
Cristiano Migliore on guitar
Marco Biazzi on guitar
Marco Zelati on bass
Cristiano Mozzati on drums
MTR got a chance to sit down for an interview with Cristina Scabbia to talk about music, new album, food, Whitney Houston, and touring.
Lacuna Coil is one of the bands that is all about having a good time on stage and giving it all too their fans.
Being the opener for bands like Motorhead & Megadeth allow themselves to be exposed to fans that might have never took a chance to see them.
Opening their less than 30min set list with the powerful vocals of Scabbia singing Our Truth, this gave the chance for the fans to get right into and sing along.
They followed up with Upside down off their just released album Dark Adrenaline and Fragile which had Scabbia banging on drummer Mozzati cymbols at the end as if she were going to tear them off.
Ferro vocals counter Scabbia to bring a nice counterbalance between the two allowing them both to sing in different harmonies.
Migliore & Biazzi played on either end of the stage like bookends as they ripped into their ESP guitars with that classic metal sound.
Zelati moved around the stage the most other than Scabbia and Ferro as he dug into deep heavy bass riffs.
With a short set they combined 3 songs off the new album that included Kill the light and their new single Trip the Darkness.
They ended the night with their huge hit Spellbound and as they walked off they had the crowd right where they wanted them as new fans.
Be sure to check out Lacuna Coil as their start time is early for on this tour, you will not be disappointed!

I am in absolute awe of this young woman. I call her young because I’m a whole three months older…
When I see all that she is (a down-to-earth, incredibly talented singer doing what she loves most…) and see all that she has accomplished (world traveler, adored by scores of fans), it makes me wonder when the hell I’m ever going to get my act together.

Cristina, I saw you this year in Baltimore and I posted “I Don’t Believe in Tomorrow” on YouTube as the first time this song was done in concert. That was a fantastic show.
This is a great interview and really reflects the soul of the band. I have seen you guys at least 5 times over the years. Last year in London and this year in Baltimore was the best because you were headlining, not supporting and we got to hear you guys for more than 30 minutes!
It is great to see the ‘real’ Cristina, not the stage Cristina in this piece. Like Karmacode, you wear no mask and it reveals the real you. Don’t get me wrong, we all love the stage Cristina, but it is cool to see the whole package!!!
Looking forward to seeing you guys in Norfolk, VA. You ARE coming to Norfolk, aren’t you?
