AEG and The Brick presents… Jane’s Addiction.
It was opening night at The Brick in Minneapolis and not only was I excited to see Jane’s Addiction, but it’s also always exciting to see a new club. Janes Addiction started their show with a video showing shots form over the years and naked ladies, all while PInk Floyds One of These Days and Wish You Were Here were in the background.
Opening with Underground off the new CD, The Great Escape Artist. Mountain Song was next which got the crowd rocking. Through out the evening the floor got more and more packed and even though a huge rain storm hit while waiting in line, it did not stop them all from having a great time.
Running on stage throughout the night also was topless ladies, bondage acts, spanking and simulated acts on stage. So this is to say it was more of an adult show, which Jane’s Addiction always is. The set calmed down a little in the middle until Perry Ferrel saw what seemed to be a problem with the site line stairs and demanded the crowd take down the curtain. I was not sure on what was going on but the band seemed not please. In the end, the problem was fixed so more people could see them, and of course they were called back up for an encore. Janes treated the crowd to Jane Says for the encore which was a great way to close out a 90 minutes show that was packed, hot, exhilerating and fun. Hopefully they will be back sooner than later.
