Brit Floyd Kyle Hansen April 25, 2012 USA AEG and The Brick presents… Brit Floyd. Tonight we get to experience Brit Floyd, currently the worlds greatest Pink Floyd experience. Brit Floyd is mostly made of members from The Australian Pink Floyd show and if you have seen them before you know what you are in store for. With a video montage playing before they came on the stage; we saw highlights all throughout Pink Floyd’s career. As the Brick is a smaller club and Brit Floyd is used to playing theaters we had a scaled back stage show. A familiar circle video screen was the back drop for the stage and the stage was designed after the Pulse tour from the mid 90’s. Getting things started this evening was Shine On You Crazy Diamonds Parts I-V, Learning To Fly, and High Hopes. After a short Hello from Damian Darlington the bands musical director and lead guitarist we got right into the tunes again. Kicking into Money, The Happiest Days of Our Lives, Another Brick in the Wall, Get Your Filthy Hands Off My Desert were all up next. Brit Floyds sound is so close to the real Pink Floyd you would swear they were channeling the guys though their instruments. The crisp sounding guitars, superb bass, and excellent back up singers; if you’re a big Floyd-head, then they are not to be missed. The Fletcher Memorial Home and Pigs were played right before a 20 minute break, which Pigs sounded surreal on this night. After the break we got treated to one of the best songs ever by Floyd; Echoes. The 23 minutes epic was played in full and perfect! After a huge roar from the crowd Time, then Great Gig in the Sky was next. Ola Bienkowska nailed the vocal section of Great Gig… Finishing out the set was Have A Cigar, Wish You Were Here, One of These Days, Hey You, Is There Anyone Out There, Nobody Home, Vera, Comfotably Numb and Run Like Hell. With over 1400 Australian Pink Floyd Shows and Brit Floyd shows, the band has it down resulting in the best possible result of a show. I applaud them to travel playing Pink Floyd’s music.
