Rammstein Kyle Hansen May 13, 2012 USA The Target Center presents… Rammstein. Opening the night was DJ Joe Letz, who was spinning Rammstein tunes until the band was up and ready with all the flame retardant lube and clothing on they could muster. As lights went out with one spot light hit the back of the stadium. The band was walking down from the lower level with the front man holding a four foot torch. They head to the b stage to the back of the floor, get on and as it rises a massive walk way to the A stage comes down. With the several songs from the Lost Highway, which they helped write, playing while on there way to the massive pyro attack we are about to endure. First up was Sonne, which was accompanied with enough pyro and flash bombs to scare KISS and the WWE right out of the building. It was all coming from three different places on the stage, upper back, and lower; we quickly understood why the front row was about 20 feet from the stage. This alone, was the most impressive start of a concert I have ever scene. Flames were being shot from under the stage during Wollt Ihr Das Bett In Flammen Sehen. With a circle of flames in the center of the stage, Till Lidemann sang and wagged his tongue in the circle of fire. For the next 3 songs most pyro and bombs were kept to a minimum, with an exception to the fireworks on the light truss on top, and the guitars players microphones, which were set on fire. It wasn’t that long after that Feuer Frei had the band in face masks which shot flames 15 feet into the sky. All three were in a triangle and in result the flames all came together. Mutter was up next, and giving us a small break from the pyro, we got cold air smoke shot into the air. It cooled us off, and then they were right into Mein Teil. Apparently based on cannibalism and the hate for the keybaord player it was time to cook dinner… Flake was in the crock pot and Till came out with a flame thrower and fired it right at the crock pot… several times. This was in addition to his machete microphone. Next up was Du Riechst So Gut, Link 2-3-4, Du Hast, and Haifisch. During these songs more massive amounts blast of pyro and Flake crowd surfing in a raft existed. As this ended the band came out crawling from the main stage to the stage in the crowd. This left us all with S&M dancing in our heads. They played Buck Dich, Mann Gegen Mann, and Ohne Diech and then they thanked the crowd, but no, they’re not quite done yet. Mein Herz Brennt, Amerika, and Ich Will closed out the main set. I have to leave some surprises of the show, but overall this show was simply spectacular. Finishing up with the encore Engel came upon stage, while Till entered with a massive set of wings on. Flames were on the tips, and we’re talking 10 foot flames! Pussy closed out the show with Till riding a great big blower shooting foam all over the crowd. Leaving the show, comments were overheard from the crowd, “I’m speechless” seemed to be the most common.
