First Avenue presents… Dragonforce.

Huntress started things off with a bang tonight, I was definitely impressed with lead singer Jill Janus. She has a banshi scream that, no pun intended, that screams metal. The band was excellent with original riffs and a classic viking-mid evil-metal sound. Check out this new and up incoming band.

Holy grail took the stage next. They were dressed right out of the classic metal days of the early eighties. With Eli Santana and Alex Lee on dual guitars, they hit the harmonies of classic sound. On drums is Tyler Meahl and on bass is Blake Mount who’s rhythm will give you a bunch in the gut! On vocals is James Pual-Luna and he can hang with the best of them. Give these guys a listen if you want some classic sounding metal.

As Dragonforce took the stage to headline the night, the crowd went nuts. Currently fronting the band is new lead singer Marc Hudson. Dragonforce are touring in support of there latest release The Power Within. But this isn’t Marc’s first tour with them, Marc toured a while in 2011 to get some shows under his belt.

As I saw them a few years back it was going to be interesting to compare against the original lead vocalist, however Marc nailed it. He hit all the right notes, and had the head banging going on to fit in with the band. On guitars is Herman Li and Sam Totman who shred, they can play like you have never seen. It was evident that Fredric was having a great time on bass as he was ripping it up and taking shots of Jack throughout the show. Dave Mackintosh has been double kicking it for 8 years with the band and has not slowed down since.

I felt the most notable part of the show was when Vadim came out in front of the stage with his keytar.
