April Wine Kyle Hansen May 18, 2012 USA Medina Entertainment Center presents… Head East and April Wine. Taking a little dip into their Canadian tour to stop in Medina MN, April Wine seems to have huge support of classic rock in the midwest we love to get some good ‘ol rock n roll. First up was Head East. The band’s current line up is Roger Boyd on Keyboards, and Vocals, Greg Manahan on bass, guitar, and vocals, Glen Bridger with lead guitar and vocals, Eddy Jones on drums and vocals and finally Darren Walker on lead vocals. With a very exciting show they brought out all of the classics, Since You Been Gone, Love Me Tonight, Never Been Any Reason, and Elijah. Roger still comes out with his keyboard and raises it above his head and rocks it. They even threw in some new tunes. Me and My Whiskey, Prisoner and Say yeah. They guys sound as fresh as ever and Darren was nailing the vocals. They even threw in some classic covers Raise A Little Hell and Mama Let Him Play Some Rock N Roll. Check them out if they are in your town. Great Band. April Wine got to it right on time. April Wine consists of Myles Godwin on lead guitars and vocals, Brian Greenway and lead guitars and vocals, Richard Lanthier on bass and background vocals, and new-comer Roy Nichol on drums. Stringing all there classics and some deep-cuts, way deep-cuts this evening they were right on. Their were some technical problems in hand, but that seemed to be no problem; Myles handled it like a pro. Coming in from Canada their set was a little differnt than the US set but still contained Enough Is Enough, Just Between You and Me, Roller, Sign of the Gypsy Queen, and I Like to Rock. Brian and Myles voice sounded excellent tonight and Roy being only a month with the band, he kept it tight! Some of the deep0cuts were Bad Side if the Moon, and starting the show with Oowatantie. For those checking out the show in the future Myles is opening for some of the upcoming shows playing stripped down and rare tracks. It should make it for a special night.
