Live Nation presents… Bloc Party at The Danforth Musical Hall on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 in Toronto, Canada.
They’ve been MIA for the past 4 years on a hiatus, but that doesn’t stop them from filling the Danforth Music Hall 2 nights back to back in Toronto, Ontario. The four piece band, Bloc Party released their fourth album, conveniently named Four just last month and are now on tour to support the album. Their set included a variety of tracks, some from each album, but of course played many off ‘Four’ including their latest single ‘Octopus’.
Their heavy British accents entertained the crowd in between songs, as during songs the building must’ve been shaking from all the dancing happening around. If you’ve seen Bloc Party perform in the past, you’ll understand that they offer a somewhat unique indie-garage band sound to their sold out venues. You’ll also be aware that they’re not ones to travel with a large production but simply have a large blown up background of the circles of their album cover of ‘Four’, and a lights of every colour of the rainbow flickering throughout. Bloc Party played their hits, and had the crowd sing a long to such tracks as ‘Helicopter’, ‘Banquet’, and ‘This Modern Love’ as well as ended off their set with indie rockin’ cover of Rihanna and Calvin Harris’ ‘We Found Love’ which later merged into their own track ‘Flux’.
Ending out the night by getting hailed back out for a much deserved encore, Bloc Party ended their 2-night stand in the country’s entertainment hotspot with a band. For a listing of the remained of their upcoming show’s view their website at www.blocparty.com/#live.
