Live Nation presents… Ben Howard at the Sound Academy in Toronto, ON on September 24, 2012.

With a subtle start, to a subtle show, acoustic artist Ben Howard graced the audience with his presence as he took the stage starting off the evening with Burgh Island. Although the 3000 person venue, Sound Academy filled up nicely for the evening, any show that Ben Howard does feels close an intimate. Playing what seemed like a shorter set, Howard still left the crowd dazed in awe between his soothing vocals, and his mellow guitar playing. Accompanied on stage with others, the spotlight was on Ben all night.

Following up, Howard played nearly solely from his latest album, Every Kingdon, which hit shelves nearly a year before the concert. He followed with Black Flies, Diamonds, then Old Pine before playing continuing playing tracks off the album including Only Love and Everything. Ben included Oates in the Water which is missing off of his album before ending off his set with The Wolves and the slightly more upbeat Keep Your Head Up.

9 Songs in and Howard left the stage, which obviously the crowd wasn’t ready for him to do. Hailing him back up, Ben was set to play two more. He played Depth Over Distance and The Fear before leaving once again, this time for good. Although still a short 11 song total set list, the crowd still felt fulfilled with what Ben provided them. One thing which would have been pleasant to see live was his infamous cover of pop world wide sensational song, Carly Rae Jepsen’s Call Me Maybe. Ben covered such track for BBC Radio 1 and received over 5.5 million views on Youtube.
