Embrace presents… Crystal Castles at the Kool Haus in Toronto, Canada on November 3, 2012.

Switched from the fourth of the month to the third, many fans were unable to make the show this evening, all of which I send my condolences too, because if you are a Crystal Castles fan; you missed out. It was an eccentric and quirky show, I must say. The noisy feedback, the glitch sounds, the continuous strobe lights which featured every colour of the rainbow; it all was a part in giving the attendees a show that they can’t really get anywhere else.

Lead singer Alice Glass has this appeal to her, an appeal built on her love for the music, and her love for the crowd. Smashing gear, stage diving, and drinking whiskey out of the bottle (all within just a matter of minutes) - I mean what else can you ask for in a girl? Glass was also joined by her musical partner in crime; Ethan Kath, in addition to a touring drummer. The band started with the track ‘Plague’, and by the time the chorus hit, the Kool Haus was vibrating due to fans jumping, dancing, and the occasional crowd surf. Throughout the evening, the trio played other hits which included ‘Baptism’, ‘Crimewave’, ‘Celestica’, and ending their set with their infamous Platinum Blonde cover ‘Not In Love’.

Opening the bill was set to be LA’s very own HEATH, but unfortunately they pulled out. Toronto’s Kontravoid filled the gap, and didn’t let down.
