Live Nation and Xcel Energy Center presents… Madonna.

Madonna hit the stage tonight at 10:30 ending a 25 year wait in the Twin Cities. Paul Oakenfold was the guest DJ tonight spinning a varitey of classics before Madonna came out.

When the curtain was pulled down the crowd went nuts, but it wasn’t until about 10 minutes later the show started around 10:30. Next thing, after a preview video church doors opened and the material girl herself was on a huge riser in the middle. As she came out of the church, Madonna was handling a machine gun and got it going with Girls Gone Wild. Next up was a set of songs one could call controversial but that is what Madonna is all about. This set Revolver, Gang Bang, Pap Don’t Preach and Hung Up had all the dancers dressed in black with guns and in result I can say that the show got off to a huge start.

Next up was Hung Up and I Don’t Give A **** with a taped part from Nicki Minaj which had Madonna playing guitar to the tunes. During Best Friend several of the dancers came out the point of the stage that was in the crowd; they had gas masks on and did some real cool moves. Madonna then hit the stage with Express Yourself and next thing you know; they all were dressed up as cheerleaders and the drum line were hanging from the top of the stage.

Justify My Love had the dancers come out to the end of the stage point in intimidating clown masks while Madonna was on the huge screen doing some adult moves in her bra. While that was going on Vogue was getting ready. They hit it just as it should be with a huge stage and stunning costumes. Even Madonna had her classic Vogue look going.

Madonna’s legendary Erotic Candy Shop had everyone back on center stage in lingerie and some great dancing. She worked her way out the the center point and started to strip during Human Nature, followed by her then breaking into Like A Virgin with a just a piano player. She started singing it at half tempo and rolling around in her bar and pants which made it interesting.

Nobody Knows Me focused on war, individuality, race, religion and things you may not know about someone. She started closing out with Celebration. Celebration which includes a house-y, dub-step like tracking to it, had a stage with a subwoofer and DJ deck to match.

Throughout the show she said it was too long to be away from Minnesota and all I can ask is for her not to not make us wait this long again. I also have to thank Madonna’s amazing crew for everything they did for the entire tour, as well as myself.
