Las Vegas’ Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip and Warfest.com presents… the Misfits.
The Misfits are here! The Hard Rock Cafe hosted the gothcore legends along with a line up put together by Warfest.com that included Loose Nutts, The Kruz, Knocked Out Cold, Next Generation Rising, Bah Ram You and The Attack for an all ages soiree that really drew fans of all ages, decked out in studs and leather and a lot of Misfits t-shirts. The Fiend Club in attendance ranged from 14 to dead, and the Misfits were there to rip out your soul and collect your skull. This time around the Misfits lineup featured Jerry Only on bass, along with Black Flag alumni Dez Cadena (guitar) and drummer Eric Arce (Murphy’s Law). The Misfits are out on this tour playing heavily from their 2011 LP The Devil’s Rain, their first release of new music in a decade or more. The album was produced by Ed Stasium whose repertoire includes working with the Ramones and on earlier Misfits recordings. The Misfits took the stage and ripped into the title track “Devil’s Rain” and turned the night into high gear, speeding though about 800 misfits numbers (give or take haha) and not missing the classics “She”, “From Hell They Came”, “Skulls”, “Die Die My Darling”, “Where Eagles Dare” and a long list of more. Mosh circles ruled the center of the club and didn’t stop until the final “Halloween” closed out the Misfits set. Not much has changed since the early days except the lineup, the Misfits still give 200% and still hit just as hard and intense as ever.
Minutes after the show ended Jerry Only, soon followed by Dez Cadena, came out front and center stage and signed autographs, took photos, and hung out until every single fan had gotten a chance to get their moment. Just seeing that was amazing, what a way to respect the masses. It was a glorious night of smoke, speed and skulls, and everyone came away sweaty, bruised and grinning.
