Whenever you have two powerhouse female, (Maria Brink & Lzzy Hale) front bands on tour together, you know you are going to be in for a treat. This happens to be Halestorm, who is being nominated for a Grammy award, as it was announced on stage.
This has been the case with this tour that also features Eve to Adam who was opening the show. Playing a tight set of 6 songs that featured a brand new song (Straightjacket Supermodel) they wrote with Eric Bass from Shinedown. Virus from the band Dope tagged along for this tour and fit right in as he rounded out the sound of ETA and would love to see this as a permanent spot. 2013 will be a busy year for ETA with a new album in the works along with intense touring.
As the stage was being setup for In This Moment you could feel the excitement running through the venue. ITM has been on the rise since releasing their new album, Blood, as well as their touring on the Uproar festival. Music Tour Reviews sat down and talked with the blistering guitarist for ITM, Chris Howorth and Randy Weitzel about the new album, the new band members, and touring.
In This Moment also included Maria Brink on Vocals, Travis Johnson on Bass, and Illinois’ own, Tom Hane on Drums.
The venue was sold out for weeks and the place was packed, with no room to move around as the sparse lighting dimmed and the opening tracks to Rise With Me started. Maria, who has been voted the hottest woman in Rock, came out in a white mask, fishnet stockings and eye makeup that looked as if she was out all night. She had all the men in the palm of her hands. Maria whispered and screamed her needs to the crowd while Adrenalized came on, with its infectious groove. The crowd was moving back and forth and jaws dropped, as fans who were unaware of who ITM stood there with, while singing Blazin’ and Whore.
Travis provided the bouncing bass of Beast Within and the back beat of Hane was pounding away. Maria’s screams would put many screamo bands to shame. During Burn and The Gun Show, a small white curtain was held in front of Maria as she performed a provocative dance with just a shadow of her and her long, fake finger nails. They finished the night with, The Blood Legion and the smash single, Blood that showcased the wickedly talented Howorth & Weitzel guitar skills as their hair went flying as fast as their fingers on the fretboard.
In This Moment is on a mission and with a great start in 2012. It can only get better in 2013
