Las Vegas Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip presents Blood on the Dance Floor with Jeffree Star.
The Hard Rock entices a whole new genre with their all ages early shows that give the younger fans a chance to see some of their favorite groups perform, and this show drew a heavy 12-20 crowd of teens, there to see the gender bending, electro dance line up from The Scene is Dead tour. Jeffree Star brought pink to the stage amid backup dancers, make up tables and a lot of ear-piercing screams from the teenage and in the front row. Star spent a half hour or so set prancing and strutting back and forth across the stage, stopping to pose and snarl in between lyrics to his techno rave anthems including “Legs Up” and “Get Away With Murder”.
Blood on the Dance Floor brought the room to a roar as the eclectic band of rock techs powered into a set that included songs from All The Rage and this year’s Evolution releases. From metal influenced “Comeback” to comic-like sounds of “Sexting” to the sweet ballad “Don’t Wanna Be Like You” the band crosses through a variety of sounds and textures that would seem to be disconnected for any other band, but they all flow into the make up of BOTDF. Dual vocalists Jayy Von Monroe and Dahvie Vanity traded turns at the mic and preened for the crowd, joined by a full stage of musicians, even a violinist. The members’ Anime-esque appearance prefaced the playfully erotic stage show that included confetti bombers, fake blood, and a full-on foam sprayer that turned the room into a living video. No one got out unscathed, fans were covered with blood and confetti, which cause a few stares as everyone hit the Vegas sidewalks after the show ended.
