Fall Out Boy with special guests New Politics in Seattle on June 19, 2013
Opening for Fall Out Boy - New Politics, touring on their newly released album ‘A Bad Girl in Harlem.’ This band was fantastic live! I was unfamiliar with this band and it was a pleasant surprise! 3 piece bands are nothing new and maybe it’s that they try harder? Or maybe it’s just not over done. I don’t know what the recipe is, but this band sounds great! Fully of energy that included the front man David Boyd walking ONTO the cheering as he stood while fans supported him and belted out the song and also head stands! Yep! He was full of headstands and the crowd loved it. Limber and athletic, way more than you bargained for! Great connection with the crowd, New Politics made it their business to be one with the crowd. Don’t turn your back or you’ll miss the next best thing happening on the stage. The music was upbeat and danceable, made you wished you knew the lyrics to sing along. I will definitely know the lyrics the next time I catch New Politic. I bought their CD. This band is one to keep your eye on!
Fall Out Boy hit the stage and it was blow your socks off Rock and Roll! Front Man Patrick’s Stumps voice by all accounts is amazing. This kid is a powerhouse that gave his all on every song! His range and vocals are a true listening pleasure! This band may have and ‘emo’ following and personally I think people need to really give this band a listen! Emo is dead even if it ever was a real thing. They play well and every song was perfect! Huge energy and a great mix of old and new. They’re new album ‘Save Rock and Roll’ is a new sound for them, however it is Fall Out Boy re-invented! True pop rock and got the crowd dancing and singing at the top of their lungs. Super fun evening and a great way to kick off summer shows.. Give Fall Out Boy a chance; I’m sure you will go away singing in your head and tapping your foot to despite your preconceived ideas. Most of us had waited a long time to see this band again. Was it worth it? Definitely! If you wait around to meet the band after the show, Patrick is usually up to sign autographs and take pics with fans. He gives great hugs! Pete Wentz waved to the waiting fans and continued to the tour bus. Joe and Andy both came out to sign as well. Thanks fella’s for a night very well played!
