Vinyl Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino presents Courtney Love.

Vinyl at the Hard Rock hosted Courtney Love for two packed nights, out on the road with a new band sporting guitarist Ginger Wildheart (Wildhearts, Mike Monroe, Sonic Circus) who also kicked off the show. Ginger opened with an acoustic set backed by Slash alumni Todd Kerns before Love took the stage for a greatest hits set.

Love started off tough with “Plump” and the fans jammed against the stage screaming the lyrics, Love screaming them back. Courtney sounded on top of her game, and the set list ran thru a long list of faves including Fleetwood cover “Gold Dust Woman”, “Violet”, “Asking For It”, and the crowd went wild for “Celebrity Skin”. After peeling off layers of ruffles and guitars, Love came out for the encore in a sheer obligatory babydoll-esque dress for an encore of “Northern Star”, “Dying” and “Doll Parts”. This was the Courtney of the grunge heyday, strong and bold and powering through song after self tormented song.

Love held her own for an amazing first of two nights in Vegas, and reviews show the second night show she stayed just as steady. Love or hate her she’s got it together and ready for another round with a new cd out (tentatively) in December 2013 titled Dying Blonde. The summer tour has now wound down so if you missed it hopefully she’ll be back on the road in the new year with the release of the cd.
