Wednesday 13 was back once again at Vinyl Las Vegas with the For those About to Rot tour of tongue-in-cheek horror rock just in time for a Halloween precursor, with LA psychobilly rockers Cold Blue Rebels opening. Cold Blue Rebels mix ghoulish style and rockabilly tunes with frontman Mickey FInn (former Jetboy) belting out bobbysock rock mixed with a little blood and guts. Perfect tour matching with Wednesday 13, who take the ghoulish stage even further with their horror schtick anthems and graveyard getup.
The show had a sparse crowd at the start but W13 goth rockers kicked off like they were playing a stadium and pulled out quite a reparte of Wednesday 13 favorites including “Morgue than Words”, “Scream Baby Scream”, “Home Sweet Homicide”, “Rambo”, “I Walked with a Zombie” and more among a long set of grisly satire. About halfway through the show the Mötley Crüe concert next door let out and the club filled fast with fans catching the second half of Wednesday’s show, just in time for a fullhouse scream-along to “I Love to say F#ck” and the expected fist pumping finale “Bad Things”. Classic Wednesday.
