Opening for Josh Groban can be a daunting task for any artist, but for Judith Hill she performed flawlessly. Performing at the United Center in Chicago, IL, the house that Jordan built with the Chicago Bulls and Stanley Cup Champions, Chicago Blackhawks, this venue hangs many championship banners as well the biggest performers in music played.

Tonight was a showcase and coming out for Judith Hill. Fans may remember Hill from the T.V. show, The Voice and background singer for Michael Jackson, Josh Groban, Stevie Wonder, and many other artists. She also stars in the documentary film, 20 feet from Stardom.

As the lights dimmed, a spotlight from the rafters revealed Hill, with her hair bound tight on the sides and as Josh Groban wished he had a fro hawk, like her. She sat down at the piano for two songs before bringing her band out. Her vocals are clean with hints of Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, and Whitney Houston all mixed together; coming out in a sensual, cool, worldly vibe.

She captured the audience’s hearts with Beautiful Life, touched their soul with Desperation, and proved she is the voice with I Still Believe. After she was done, she met with fans at the merchandise booth, many of whom raved to her how amazing she sounded.

During Josh Groban’s set, she came out twice to do a duet on Remember When it Rained and a beautiful rendition of The Prayer.

Judith proved tonight that she may have not won the show, (The Voice) but she has the voice that will touch many fans and proved she has the voice that will one day be headlining United Center.

The “In the Round” tour will be running until November 13th.
