Paramore graced the Ritual stage at this years Voodoo Experience, presented by Rehage Entertainment, their hard edged pop and high energy performance had fans filling up the main field for a revved up set that got everyone pumped up for a NIN finale later that night. Singer Hayley Williams blasted onto the stage covered in black rubber and trademark orange tresses, looking more sci-fi punk than pop, and from the sounds of the new cd and stage performance Williams has evolved from pop princess to a serious grrl contender in the female rock arena. Williams literally kicked off Paramore’s show with “Fast in my Car” from their self titled cd released earlier this year, dominating the big stage with a exhilarating toughness as she alternately belted and bounced through “Car” and through a range of songs from the bands four albums. Guitarist Taylor York and Bassist Jeremy Davis completed Paramore’s formal lineup, and the band enlisted two back up guitarists and drummer for the live show that filled up the stage and sound. Since this was a headline warm up for the NIN set, Paramore got a mix of loyal fans and a lot of new blood to play to, and Williams repeatedly throughout the show stopped to yell “WE ARE PARAMORE!” just in case someone new may have wandered in and hadn’t got the buzz yet. From Williams fiery hair to the power packed show, Paramore left a blazing footprint at Voodoo and gained some new fans in the process.

Paramore has tour dates scheduled sporadically throughout the rest of 2013 and into the new year, and you can check dates and info at http://www.paramore.net/
