Judas Priest returned again to the Pearl Theater at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas and started the show off strong with “Dragonaut” from their latest 2014 release Redeemer of Souls. Legendary vocalist Rob Halford, looking very metal indeed in metallic shades and long leather coat, told the sold out crowd “(it is) a very important record, Redeemer of Souls…. we wanted to come back to Vegas again before rapping up the tour and maybe recording another record.” Halford went on to say they would be “playing some songs we haven’t played in a very long time”, and as record cover art from their decades spanning career flashed on big screens behind the iconic singer, Priest indeed played some hits, new songs, and some songs they haven’t played in a very long time. Halford told the fans “we’ve been making metal of over 40 fucking years” and it seems there is no fear of them slowing down in the midst of their 5th decade.
